Recognising the Community Behind the Conference

A successful conference depends on contributions throughout the entire event. We sincerely thank every moderator, faculty member, attendee, organiser, volunteer, and partner who helped bring AEOS Vision Conference 2026 to life.

Your commitment and enthusiasm shaped an atmosphere of engaged discussion and meaningful exchange. From preparing the programme and coordinating the meeting to participating in scientific conversations, your collective efforts made these three days possible.

Supporting Medical Education in Syria

Hosting an international ophthalmology conference in Damascus holds particular significance for AEOS. Bringing together experts from different countries reflects our commitment to strengthening medical education and professional collaboration at a time when both are especially needed.

Supporting the recovery and continued development of the Syrian healthcare system through education, knowledge exchange, and international cooperation remains one of our core missions.

The conference represents a contribution to that ongoing work. By creating opportunities for colleagues to learn together and exchange experience, AEOS aims to support lasting professional relationships and continued development in eye care.

With Gratitude to Our Partners and Supporters

We extend our sincere appreciation to the partners and supporters whose trust and collaboration helped make the conference possible.

These include Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, through the Förderprogramm Klinikpartnerschaften, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

We also thank the Syrian Ministries for their support and commitment to advancing healthcare capacity and medical education.

These partnerships demonstrate the value of working across institutions and national borders in support of a shared educational mission.

Carrying the Momentum Forward

The value of a scientific gathering continues beyond its closing session—in the ideas colleagues carry home, the connections they maintain, and the conversations they continue.

AEOS Vision Conference 2026 demonstrated how science, education, and international collaboration can build bridges and inspire hope for a stronger healthcare future.

Thank you for being part of this shared achievement. We look forward to welcoming you again at future AEOS scientific events.
