AEOS Advanced Instructional Courses: Practical Ophthalmology Training in Damascus
The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) is launching its Advanced Instructional Courses during the AEOS Vision Conference, taking place on 2–4 July 2026 at the Cham Hotel in Damascus, Syria.
Led by international experts, the courses combine scientific knowledge with practical clinical experience. The focus is on helping ophthalmologists deepen their understanding of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and connect that learning with everyday practice.
From Diagnostic Imaging to Surgical Decision-Making
The course programme spans imaging, refractive surgery, strabismus, eyelid surgery, and glaucoma. This breadth offers participants opportunities to explore topics relevant to their clinical interests and professional development.
Available courses include:
-
Refractive Surgery Crash Course including Corneal Tomography (Pentacam)
-
Fluorescein & ICG Angiography
-
OCT & OCT Angiography
-
Strabismus Clinical Approach Crash Course
-
Eyelid Surgery
-
Evidence-Based Glaucoma: How to Win the Guidelines
-
Glaucoma: SLT — A Journey from Alternative to 1st-Line Therapy
Together, these courses bring diagnostic interpretation, clinical assessment, and treatment approaches into a programme designed around practical learning.
Learning That Connects with Clinical Practice
The Advanced Instructional Courses extend beyond lecture-based teaching, with intensive content and opportunities for hands-on learning. Sessions are designed to provide knowledge participants can apply in their clinics, while encouraging closer examination of familiar challenges and newer approaches.
Learning directly from experienced faculty also creates space for questions, discussion, and the exchange of clinical perspectives. These conversations help connect scientific content with the decisions physicians face in their own settings.
An Opportunity to Learn Together
Alongside individual skills development, the courses offer a chance to meet colleagues who share a commitment to continuous education. AEOS invites physicians to exchange expertise, explore different approaches, and build professional connections within an international ophthalmic community.
