The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) was honoured to receive a shield of recognition from the Qatar Society of Ophthalmology (QSO) during its participation in the 5th Qatari Conference of Ophthalmology in Doha.

The occasion offered an opportunity to celebrate scientific exchange and strengthen relationships with colleagues and ophthalmological societies across the Gulf region.

With Thanks to Our Hosts

AEOS extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Faisal Naqadan, President of the Qatar Society of Ophthalmology, for his warm welcome and recognition.

Receiving this shield was a meaningful moment for our society, reflecting the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation that characterised our participation in the conference.

Connecting with Leaders Across the Gulf

The meeting also provided an opportunity to connect with leaders of fellow ophthalmological societies, including:

  • Dr. Abdulrahman AlBloushi, President of the Saudi Ophthalmological Society (SOS)

  • Dr. Rashid Alsaidi, President of the Oman Ophthalmological Society (OOS)

  • Sheikha Noura Al Qassimi, President of the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology (EOS)

These encounters created space to strengthen professional connections and look towards future scientific meetings and cooperation. For AEOS, such relationships are an important part of supporting knowledge exchange across national and institutional boundaries.

Representing AEOS

AEOS was represented in Doha by Dr. med. Ahmad Rahal, MD, FEBO, FICO, and Ms. Diana Nazzal, Head of the AEOS Humanitarian Office.

Their participation reflected the society’s commitment to connecting scientific education, international collaboration, and service to the wider ophthalmic community.

Looking Towards Future Cooperation

We thank the Qatar Society of Ophthalmology and the conference hosts for their hospitality and recognition. We look forward to building on the connections made in Doha through further scientific exchange and shared initiatives.

Together, we continue working to strengthen ophthalmology across the region and beyond.
