Advancing Ophthalmology Together: Partnerships Behind AEOS Vision Conference 2026

The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) is proud to announce the institutional partnerships supporting the AEOS Vision Conference 2026, taking place from 2–4 July 2026 at the Cham Hotel in Damascus, Syria.

Under the theme “Advancing Ophthalmology Together,” the conference will connect ophthalmologists, healthcare institutions, academic centres, and professional organisations from the Arab region and Europe. These collaborations bring a shared commitment to knowledge exchange, scientific education, and the continued development of eye care.

The conference is being organised in collaboration with:

Each partnership contributes to a meeting grounded in both clinical experience and academic exchange. Bringing these institutions together creates opportunities for colleagues to share perspectives and strengthen professional relationships across borders.

Support for Education, Research, and Patient Care

AEOS is honoured that the conference is being held under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Health and the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Their involvement reflects a shared commitment to advancing ophthalmic education, research, and patient care. It also highlights the importance of connecting healthcare services and academic institutions in support of professional development.

International Cooperation Through Hospital Partnerships

The initiative is supported through the Förderprogramm Klinikpartnerschaften (Hospital Partnerships Programme), implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

This support connects the conference with a wider effort to strengthen institutional cooperation, medical education, and sustainable healthcare development. For AEOS, such partnerships are an important foundation for continued exchange beyond individual scientific events.
