AEOS Vision Conference 2026: Connecting Ophthalmic Expertise in Damascus
The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) is pleased to announce the AEOS Vision Conference, taking place in Damascus, Syria, from 2–4 July 2026.
Held under the patronage of the Syrian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Syrian Ministry of Health, the conference will bring together international speakers, subspecialty surgeons, researchers, and healthcare professionals from Syria, the region, and beyond.
Exploring Developments in Eye Care
The conference will provide a platform for sharing updates in ophthalmology, ophthalmic surgery, research, and innovation, including the evolving applications of artificial intelligence in eye care.
By bringing different specialties and professional perspectives together, AEOS aims to encourage discussion that connects scientific developments with clinical practice. Participants will have opportunities to exchange knowledge, learn from colleagues, and build relationships across institutions and borders.
A Conference Built on Collaboration
The meeting is organised in collaboration with:
-
Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS)
-
Syrian Ophthalmologists Initiative — مبادرة أطباء العيون السوريين
-
University Hospital Essen
-
Arab Austrian Medical Association
-
Syrian Society of Ophthalmologists
These partnerships connect clinical and academic communities around a shared commitment to ophthalmic education and professional development.
The conference is held within the framework of the Förderprogramm Klinikpartnerschaften (Hospital Partnerships Programme), supported by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. This framework supports the broader ambition of strengthening institutional cooperation and sustained knowledge exchange.
Supporting Learning and Professional Connections
For AEOS, the Damascus conference is an opportunity to bring international expertise into direct conversation with regional experience and priorities.
Alongside the scientific meeting, participants can register separately for educational courses. Together, these opportunities support colleagues seeking to deepen their knowledge and engage with the wider ophthalmic community.
