International Collaboration in Focus at the AEOS Conference in Hamburg
How can international partnerships support stronger eye care services and the professionals who deliver them? This question will be at the heart of the AEOS Forum on International Collaboration, a dedicated session at the 1st AEOS Scientific European Conference, taking place on 6 June 2026 in Hamburg, Germany.
The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) will bring together speakers to discuss cooperation across institutions and borders, with a focus on ophthalmology, health systems, and professional development.
Introducing the Hospital Partnerships Programme
AEOS is pleased to welcome Ms. Nino Tsouloukidse from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
She will present the Förderprogramm Klinikpartnerschaften (Hospital Partnerships Programme), an initiative supporting sustainable hospital partnerships, the development of healthcare capacity, and international knowledge exchange.
Her contribution will offer participants an opportunity to learn about a framework that connects healthcare institutions and supports collaboration between medical professionals.
Connecting Partnerships with Eye Care
Joining the session are Dr. med. Ahmad Rahal, MD, FEBO, FICO, and Dr. Diana Nazzal, FEBO.
Together, the speakers will highlight how collaboration can help address healthcare challenges and support wider access to quality eye care. The discussion will connect the broader aims of international cooperation with the needs of ophthalmic teams and the communities they serve.
A Forum for Shared Learning
The forum reflects AEOS’s commitment to strengthening relationships between colleagues in Europe, the Arab world, and beyond. By making international collaboration a dedicated part of the scientific programme, the society aims to encourage dialogue about how institutions can learn from one another and sustain their work together.
