Supporting Emerging Talent: AEOS Young Researchers Session Announces DSFG Support

Aug 15, 2026 | News

The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) is pleased to announce that its Young Researchers Session at the upcoming AEOS Congress in Hamburg will receive support through a contribution from the German-Syrian Research Foundation e.V. (DSFG).

This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of ophthalmologists and expanding opportunities for research, education, and international exchange.

A Platform for New Scientific Voices

The Young Researchers Session will give young ophthalmologists and researchers the opportunity to present their scientific work to an audience of experts and colleagues.

Alongside showcasing emerging research, the session aims to encourage discussion, support mentorship, and connect clinicians and researchers across different stages of their careers. It offers a setting where new ideas can receive attention and scientific exchange can lead to further professional connections.

A €500 Award for the Best Presentation

To recognise outstanding scientific contribution, a €500 award will be presented to the best presentation.

The winner will be selected through voting by both the congress audience and the scientific commission, bringing peer engagement and scientific assessment into the recognition process.

The award celebrates the work of emerging researchers and reinforces the value of communicating research clearly to the wider ophthalmic community.

Strengthening Research Through Collaboration

DSFG’s contribution supports the continued development of this initiative and its focus on academic achievement, innovation, and professional growth.

For AEOS, investing in young clinicians and researchers means creating opportunities to share their work, learn from experienced colleagues, and participate in international scientific dialogue. This collaboration helps strengthen that commitment.

The session brings together:

  • Dr. Karim Lehiani

  • Dr. med. Hosni Al Zoubi

  • Khalil El Jawhari, MD

  • Dr. med. Rashid Kourukmas

  • Dr. med. Karim Al-Ghazzawi
