Specialized Workshop in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery: A Scientific and Networking Leap Sponsored by AEOS

On Saturday, August 23, 2025, the Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) organized a specialized workshop in Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) in Mülheim, Germany. Running from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, the event brought together a select group of ophthalmologists from across the Arab world and Europe, marking another milestone in AEOS’s mission to advance ophthalmic education and professional collaboration.
Distinguished Scientific Leadership
The workshop was conducted under the guidance of two renowned experts:
-
Dr. Obeda Kailani – Consultant Ophthalmologist at King’s College Hospital London and Scientific Delegate of AEOS
-
Dr. Ahmad Rahal, MD, FEBO, FICO – Consultant Ophthalmologist, CEO of Argus Eye Center, and AEOS Board Member
Both instructors provided intensive, hands-on training in the latest MIGS techniques, offering participants direct exposure to advanced surgical practices.
Active Participation and Scientific Value
A total of eight ophthalmologists attended the workshop, representing a wide range of professional backgrounds. Participants praised the high scientific value of the program, emphasizing that the practical and applied content significantly enhanced their surgical expertise and broadened their approaches to managing complex glaucoma cases.
An Advanced Scientific Platform
This workshop elevated the standards of continuing medical education in glaucoma surgery by combining theory with practical application. Attendees gained valuable experience with cutting-edge surgical technologies, strengthening both clinical outcomes and patient care.
Networking and Knowledge Exchange
Beyond the scientific program, the workshop created a collaborative atmosphere for networking and exchange of ideas. This reflects AEOS’s commitment to one of its core missions: building strong professional ties between Arab and European ophthalmologists.
