AEOS Expands Surgical Training with Portable Phacoemulsification Device

Aug 13, 2025 | News, Projects

The Arab-European Ophthalmological Society (AEOS) is pleased to announce the renewed use of the portable phacoemulsification device as part of the surgical training activities conducted by the One Pulse delegation at Al-Mujtahid Hospital.

This achievement follows repeated equipment malfunctions that had previously limited operations and reflects AEOS’s ongoing commitment to supporting medical professionals and improving healthcare quality in challenging environments.

Acknowledging Dedication and Leadership

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mohammad Qatta’ for his unwavering dedication and pivotal role in ensuring the success of this training initiative. His efforts stand as a testament to generosity, professionalism, and medical ethics in practice.

A Call for Support

While the device is already being used in surgical training, AEOS still owes €5,700 toward its purchase. In line with our mission of making healthcare support accessible to all, we invite everyone to contribute toward completing this cost through our dedicated donation link:

Your contributions are a form of ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), helping us extend the reach of quality healthcare and empowering medical professionals to deliver vital services to those in need.

Future Impact

The device will continue to be loaned out for future medical campaigns in underserved and remote areas. By equipping doctors with the necessary tools, AEOS aims to strengthen humanitarian missions and improve patient outcomes where resources are scarce.

Partnership and Solidarity

We also express our sincere thanks to the Syrian German Medical Association (SGMA) for their steadfast support. Together, we continue to believe in the power of collaborative work to bring hope and healing to communities in need.

At AEOS, we affirm that every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Each act of generosity creates new opportunities for sight, health, and dignity.
